Oxford University Innovation (OUI) has become a founding partner of CO:LABS, a major new development at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus. The facility is designed to connect, collaborate and grow science and technology businesses. OUI joins The Rosalind Franklin Institute, Agilent and Venture Café as founding partners.

As a founding partner, OUI will support resident startups with seminars, workshops, coaching and mentorship, drawing on its expertise in turning academic research into commercial impact. The goal is to equip early-stage companies with the skills and knowledge needed to turn scientific discoveries into products, services and viable businesses.

CO:LABS offers a collaborative environment with workspace, specialised facilities and access to a wider innovation network. It houses the Motherlabs Accelerator, which provides fitted CL2 labs and shared services for early-stage companies, along with flexible grow-on space and customised floors for expanding businesses. The Link, a central hub within CO:LABS, includes seminar and pitch spaces, a café, library, meeting rooms and collaborative work areas.

Jim Stretton, managing director at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, said OUI's experience would be 'a valuable addition to the community, giving resident startups access to the commercial insight and support they need to develop their ideas and grow their businesses'.
