Paper ballot shortages disrupted voting on Election Day in Kansas, Illinois, Maryland and Michigan.

Paper ballot shortages disrupted voting on Election Day in multiple states. In Linwood, Kansas, one voter reported that her 18-year-old son left without voting after officials ran out of ballots, along with around 10 to 15 other people she witnessed leaving without casting votes. Leavenworth County said the shortage occurred due to an error in the number of ballots ordered: the polling station received only 100 ballots instead of the 1,000 needed.

Leavenworth County acknowledged the error in a press release, saying the shortage was discovered early and efforts to correct it began immediately. "We recognise the importance of ensuring that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast a ballot. We sincerely apologise for this mistake and any inconvenience or concern it may have caused," the release stated. The Kansas Secretary of State communications spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the situation had been remedied early in the morning and voters were able to vote from that point on.

Ballot shortages were also reported in Chicago, where election officials responded by delivering additional ballots and directing voters to alternative voting centres. In Dearborn, Michigan, Al Jazeera reported ballot shortages at several polling stations, prompting the mayor to urge voters not to leave polling lines.
