Papua New Guinea's new NRL club has unveiled its inaugural logo and jersey ahead of its 2028 debut season.

The PNG Chiefs have unveiled their logo and supporters' jersey ahead of their 2028 NRL debut season. The logo features the face of a chief and cultural drawings by PNG artist Tabu. The club has formally adopted black, white and gold as its official colours, reflecting the Papua New Guinea flag colours traditionally worn by the nation's sporting teams. A supporters' jersey was also unveiled, with a white accented 'V' on the chest.

PNG Chiefs CEO Lorna McPherson described the unveiling as 'one of the most significant milestones in the journey of the PNG Chiefs', stating that for the first time the club had 'its true, complete identity — a logo and jersey that our players, partners and fans can hold to as their own'.

The club is proceeding with the unveiling despite a legal dispute between New Zealand Rugby and the NRL over rights to the Chiefs name. An injunction sought by NZ Rugby to prevent the NRL's adoption of the moniker was denied in the New Zealand high court last week. The matter is set to go to trial next year, centring on the Super Rugby club Waikato Chiefs formed in 1996.
