Two Yorkshire pubs have reopened following significant refurbishments to their interiors and exteriors.

The Sword Dancer in Handsworth, Sheffield reopened on Friday, October 2 following a six-figure refurbishment. The venue, affectionately known locally as 'The Sword', has relaunched as part of the Flaming Grill family with enhanced facilities including new media walls displaying live sporting fixtures on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, upgraded TV screens throughout, two digital dart boards and a reclothed pool table. The pub's interior features an open-plan layout and the exterior has been enhanced with new signage, planters and garden seating.

The Armytage in Brighouse completed a three-week refurbishment and welcomed customers back this week. The revamp included a redesigned dining space, modernised bar area, upgraded beer garden decking and new lighting to showcase views across the surrounding countryside. Both pubs have retained their existing menus alongside their refreshed spaces.

Management at both venues said the refurbishments have created modern, welcoming atmospheres. Jake Fordham, general manager at The Sword Dancer, said the transformation 'has created a modern and welcoming space that's perfect for any occasion, whether you're looking for a spot to have a midweek drink, enjoy a meal out with friends and family or support your favourite teams on matchdays'. Sarah McDougall, general manager at The Armytage, said: 'We've kept everything you love about the place with a bit of extra sizzle.'
