Summarised from 3 outlets · Updated 23 Oct, 14:58 · Archive
Marston's pub chain has launched limited-edition poppy glasses to support the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal. The Raise a Glass campaign runs across 1,134 pubs nationwide, including 125 in the North West and 15 in Cumbria. Participating venues include Kings Head in Ulverston, Anchor Vaults in Whitehaven and Twa Dogs in Keswick.
The glasses are available in both pint and half-pint sizes and feature artwork by Jane Wilkes, an Army veteran and artist who served 15 years in the military. Wilkes said: 'It is a true honour to have designed Marston's and the Royal British Legion's commemorative glasses for this year's Poppy Appeal.'
The campaign builds on previous success. Last year's Raise a Glass campaign raised more than £128,000. Jen Monaghan, senior campaign and partnerships manager at Marston's, said: 'Over the last two years, we've been incredibly proud of the support shown by our guests, pub teams and local communities for Raise a Glass.' The company aims to generate even greater support this year.
The glasses are available until November 11.
