Several roads in Suffolk will close for maintenance work over the coming weeks, affecting Aspall Road, Garrison Lane and other routes.

Several road closures affecting Suffolk residents are scheduled to begin this week and continue over the coming months.

Aspall Road will close from Monday, 26 October to Monday, 7 December, running from Water Lane to The Butts and in effect 24 hours a day with works scheduled between 8am and 5pm. A 24-mile diversion will be in place via the B1077, A1120, A140, B1117 and B1077.

Sections of Garrison Lane will close in phases from 2 November as Cadent replaces ageing gas pipes. The first closure, from 2 to 22 November, will affect the section from High Road West to Bridge Road. A second closure from 9 to 30 November will impact Bridge Road to St Andrews Road, and a third phase from 16 December to 7 December will close the road from south of St Andrews Road to south of Cobbold Road. Works are expected to last into February with a break over Christmas.

Separately, Ipswich Town has submitted a planning application to install new camera masts, advertisement boards and a screen at its Playford Road training ground in Rushmere St Andrew. The application notes that a public right of way would be affected if approved. Listed building consent is also being sought for works at Marston House in Woodbridge, including repair of external timber windows and doors and removal of 20th-century partitions.
