Richard E Grant banished in first Celebrity Traitors round

Summarised from 2 outlets · 3 reports · Updated 8 Oct, 21:37 · Archive

Richard E Grant became the first celebrity to be banished from The Celebrity Traitors after the Faithfuls unmasked him as a Traitor at the first Round Table vote on BBC One.

The Hollywood actor had been under suspicion since the opening episode, when he appeared to accidentally reveal his secret identity during a conversation with comedian Joe Lycett. This early slip-up placed him firmly in the firing line, with suspicions growing as the episode progressed.

Despite attempting to recover from the mistake, Grant could not shake off the suspicion. At the Round Table, the majority of Faithfuls voted to banish him. In a further twist, fellow Traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster also voted against him, throwing their ally under the bus to protect their own identities. The series continues on Friday with another murder round.
