WA sporting icons David Mundy and Adam Voges will play together for East Fremantle in local cricket on Saturday.

David Mundy and Adam Voges, two of Western Australia's most accomplished athletes, will play together for East Fremantle in a season-opening One-Day E-grade cricket match against Kardinya Lakes on Saturday. Voges, the Perth Scorchers coach and WA cricket legend, will be joined by his teenage son Xavier in the 12-player side. Mundy has been a regular for East Fremantle's cricket team since retiring from the AFL in 2022, when he stepped down as Fremantle's all-time games played record holder with 376 appearances across his 18 seasons with the Dockers.

Voges earned selection for Australia's Test team at 35 years old and went on to play 20 Test matches before retiring from professional cricket in 2017. He was appointed coach of both WA's domestic team and the Scorchers shortly after, overseeing a period that yielded 11 titles across all three formats. He remains in charge of the Big Bash League side but stepped down from his State role last year to pursue opportunities in the global Twenty20 circuit.

Mundy remained at a high level when he retired from the AFL. Last year, he scored 103 not out from 49 balls to lead East Fremantle to victory over Cannington Tigers. East Fremantle's first-grade side also includes County Championship player Jim Allenby, former Scorchers signing Haydan Morton and ex-West Coast ruckman Luke Strnadica.
