Walmart is selling a holiday meal basket for $35, feeding ten people at $3.50 per person, with 26 items including turkey and trimmings.

Walmart announced on Wednesday that its holiday meal basket, available through 24 December in stores and online, will cost $35 for ten people. The basket contains 26 items including Butterball turkey, stuffing, dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy and pumpkin pie. It includes 18 per cent more items than last year whilst costing 12 per cent less, according to Walmart. The retailer is also offering free express delivery through 30 November.

Ninetty-six per cent of the items in the bundle are on rollback, meaning prices are temporarily lowered through Christmas Eve. The Butterball turkey is priced at 97 cents per pound, the same as in 2025. Walmart said it is targeting consumers seeking lower prices, citing internal survey data showing shoppers are cutting back on spending.

Retail analyst John Mercer of Coresight Research said the deal sends a message of price leadership at the start of the holiday season. He noted that Walmart received $2.9 billion in tariff refunds at the end of the second quarter and announced plans to invest that money in pricing, making the timing of such headline deals strategic for the crucial holiday quarter.
