Former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips and his partner Alexis Warr were eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing in Week 5.
Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr were eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing 2026 in Week 5 after losing a dance-off to Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu.
Wright-Phillips and Warr finished bottom of the leaderboard on 17 points in Saturday night's main show on 24 October. Winstone and Gu came third from bottom with 24 points. Tabby Stoecker and Mark Karmalita topped the leaderboard with 37 points. The leaderboard is decided by judges' scores weighted equally with public votes, meaning any couple could theoretically end up in the dance-off.
In the dance-off, Winstone and Gu repeated their foxtrot to 'Man I Need' by Olivia Dean, whilst Wright-Phillips and Warr reprised their jive to 'Faith' by Stevie Wonder featuring Ariana Grande. Judges Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse voted to save Winstone and Gu, but head judge Shirley Ballas voted for Wright-Phillips and Warr. This left the decision to Anton Du Beke, who held the week's casting vote.
Du Beke chose to save Winstone and Gu, eliminating Wright-Phillips and Warr from the competition. Wright-Phillips is a former footballer who played for Chelsea, Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers during his career.
The show also announced a change for next week's Halloween episode. A triple dance-off will be held, with the three couples with the lowest combined judges' scores and public votes dancing again before judges eliminate one pair. The show will then return to a two-couple dance-off format for the remainder of the series.
