A 48,000 square foot food and entertainment venue with six kitchens and five bars will open in Wigan's former Debenhams store in November.

STACK Wigan will open in November in the former Debenhams unit at the Grand Arcade. The 48,000 square foot venue will hold more than 2,000 people, featuring six street food traders, five bars, a coffee shop, pool tables and an outdoor terrace. A live stage will host music, performances and events throughout the week, with big screens showing sporting matches.

The food traders confirmed for the venue are Tikka Bros, which will open its second Wigan site, Pattersons from Liverpool opening its first Wigan location, Hello Oriental & Smash House from Manchester, and favourites Acropolis and ZZA Pizzeria. Gemma Dishman, Director of Strategy and Development at STACK, said the venue was 'about more than filling an empty building' and would 'create a place where people can come together for food, live entertainment and shared experiences'.

The new venue is expected to create around 140 jobs and give Wigan a brand new day-to-night destination in the town centre.
