University of York graduate Aiden Tonyy has created Seasonaly, an app designed to help students find short-term, flexible seasonal work.

University of York graduate Aiden Tonyy has launched Seasonaly, an app designed to connect students with seasonal job opportunities offered by businesses in York. The app was born from Mr Tonyy's own experience of spending three months searching for seasonal work during his second year before securing a Christmas job at Bettys. He recognised that seasonal jobs existed but were difficult to find and were buried beneath permanent roles on traditional job boards.

Development of Seasonaly began in late 2025, with Mr Tonyy teaching himself app development and AI integration whilst balancing university studies, a dissertation, employer outreach and multiple jobs. The project was supported by the Phase One Incubator at York Science Park, powered by Barclays Eagle Labs. Ahead of the launch, Mr Tonyy approached more than 120 businesses in York to understand their seasonal hiring needs and introduce the app.

After completing a Technology Analyst internship at Barclays in Glasgow, Mr Tonyy secured a graduate position in Canary Wharf starting in August 2027. He chose to launch Seasonaly before beginning his corporate career, stating he did not want to regret not giving the app 'a proper chance' before starting full-time employment.
