Newbridge face Magherafelt in the Derry SFC final, bidding for a third successive championship title.

Newbridge are defending their Derry SFC title in a repeat of last season's final against Magherafelt at Celtic Park this evening. The holders won last year by two points and also claimed a shock victory over then All-Ireland champions Glen in 2024. They are managed by Gary Hetherington and Kevin Brady.

Newbridge beat Glen 2-16 to 1-10 in the semi-finals, while Magherafelt won convincingly 0-14 to 1-6 against Slaughtneil. Magherafelt are managed by Enda Muldoon along with Gavin Devlin and Stephen Kernan. A third successive title would give Newbridge 13 senior football titles, level with Ballinderry. Magherafelt have not won the John McLoughlin Cup since 2019 and have lost three finals since then.
