Sydney FC came from behind to beat Adelaide United 2-1 in their A-League Men clash at Allianz Stadium.

Sydney FC came from behind to defeat Adelaide United 2-1 at Allianz Stadium on Sunday, claiming their first win of the A-League Men season. Adelaide took the lead in the 16th minute when Brody Burkitt's press caused keeper Harrison Devenish-Meares to lose possession, allowing the 20-year-old to shoot the Reds ahead.

Sydney dominated much of the match but struggled in front of goal, with their shots frequently going wide or being saved by Adelaide keeper Joshua Smits. The breakthrough came in the 64th minute when Rhys Youlley equalised from outside the penalty area with a well-placed finish.

Sydney went ahead fewer than ten minutes later. Substitute Akol Akon played Al Hassan Toure into space down the right, and Toure's pass across the face of goal was finished by Nigerian striker Oriola Sunday. Sydney held firm in a chaotic final period to secure the victory.

The result secured Patrick Kisnorbo his first home win as Sydney boss at the fifth attempt. Sydney face Melbourne City, whom Kisnorbo led to a title in 2021, next Saturday.
