VMS (Fleet Management) Limited, which supplied vehicles to Waitrose and Iceland, has entered administration.

VMS (Fleet Management) Limited, a commercial van hire firm that supplied vehicles to Waitrose and Iceland, has entered administration. The company appointed administrators on 15 October, according to an official public record notice published on 20 October. Jeremy Karr, Simon Killick and Joanne Louise Hammond of BTG Begbies Traynor (Central) have been confirmed as joint administrators.

The business has leased and rented cars, vans and HGVs to businesses across the country since 2002. Images on the company website show delivery vans carrying livery for supermarket brands Waitrose and Iceland, alongside vehicles featuring branding for Curry's now-defunct technical support arm Knowhow. The company operates a central support hub in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, which it claimed runs around the clock every day of the year.

Fleet operations are supported by mobile technician teams and a network of vehicle repair centres across the UK. On its website, the company claimed that taking ownership of every stage in the fleet process allowed it to deliver an 'unrivalled' and 'truly unique and bespoke service'. Four directors stepped down from the board in June, whilst one new director was appointed, according to Companies House filings.

VMS (Fleet Management) Limited forms part of the wider VMS group, which also operates VMS Refrigerations, a division that installs and services commercial transport refrigeration units and air conditioning systems. It remains unclear whether VMS Refrigerations will be affected by the administration.

The future of the vehicle leasing business remains uncertain. The corporate website remains online and no public statements have been posted to its LinkedIn or Facebook pages. Chloe Henshaw of BTG Begbies Traynor (London) LLP has been listed as the contact for anyone seeking information regarding the proceedings.
