Two High Wycombe environmental groups celebrated a combined 45 years of campaigning at an event attended by more than 60 people on 4 November. Wycombe Friends of the Earth marked its 20th anniversary whilst Wycombe Environment Centre celebrated its 25th year. The groups campaign on plastic waste reduction and run community initiatives including a monthly Repair Café and a shop selling surplus materials.

Staff at Fremantle Court Care Home in Stoke Mandeville are undertaking a 100-mile challenge this November to raise funds for Dementia UK. The care home has 41 residents living with dementia, and the fundraising effort aims to honour them, raise awareness and support the charity's work. Money raised will help Dementia UK provide advice and guidance through its Admiral Nurses, who work with people living with dementia, their families and carers.

The A404 Amersham Road in High Wycombe will close overnight until 20 November for resurfacing work, with closures running from 8pm to 6am each night. Hamilton Road will also close overnight on 11, 17 and 18 November during the same hours. The road will reopen during the day, with access for residents and businesses maintained in one direction and signed diversion routes in place. The closures will affect access to High Wycombe railway station, which will only be accessible via Queen Victoria Road, Crendon Street and Amersham Hill during the works.

Odds Farm Park near Beaconsfield will host two adult-only entertainment nights this November. A music bingo event on 13 November will be led by Beaconsfield-based host Quizzy Sue, with players marking song titles instead of numbers. A comedy night on 20 November will feature Mark Daniels, Andy Storey and Fiona Allen. Pre-booked tickets start at £20, with member tickets from £15.

Buckinghamshire police detected 10,265 speeding offences through mobile and fixed cameras in the first six months of 2026. June recorded the highest monthly total with 3,550 offences, while mobile camera detections increased throughout the period, reaching 2,060 in June. The figures also include more than 4,200 letters issued through Community SpeedWatch activity.

TV historian Lucy Worsley is bringing her live show My Royal Life: An Audience With Lucy Worsley to Wycombe Swan on 18 November. The venue's November programme also features choirmaster Gareth Malone, stand-up comedians, Imperial Classical Ballet's production of The Nutcracker, and the Eagles tribute act The Illegal Eagles.

The Beacon School pupils have created a Poppy Veil made of approximately 3,200 hand-crafted poppies, now on display at Amersham Market Hall ahead of Remembrance Sunday on 8 November. The installation will remain in place until 12 or 13 November. Remembrance Sunday services will take place in the Memorial Gardens from 10.45am, followed by a civic service at St Mary's Church.

The University of Buckingham is holding a Welcome Concert on 2 December at 7.30pm to celebrate the arrival of Professor Lynette Ryals OBE as its new Vice-Chancellor.

Firework displays are taking place across Buckinghamshire this weekend, with events in Naphill, Flackwell Heath, Beaconsfield, Marlow, Amersham and Aylesbury. Displays run Friday 6 November through the weekend, with most Saturday events opening from 4pm onwards and fireworks typically beginning between 5.45pm and 7.45pm. Many venues offer quieter displays for younger children alongside main shows, with food, bars and fairground rides also available at various locations.

Members of the Gerrards Cross and Denham Trefoil Guild have raised £1,240 for Chiltern Music Therapy, a not-for-profit organisation that uses music to support communication, emotional wellbeing and connection. The money was raised through a range of fundraising activities, with a cheque presented to founder Rosie Axon at the guild's October meeting. Chiltern Music Therapy works with people of all ages in schools, hospitals, care homes and community settings, and already provides services locally including at the Epilepsy Society in Chalfont St Peter and with Hightown Housing Association in Beaconsfield.

More than one in 10 patients across Thames Valley rated their overall experience of their GP practice as poor, according to NHS Thames Valley Integrated Care Board survey results. The figure of 10.7 per cent was based on responses from 2,642 people. Among those contacting their practice, 30.9 per cent used telephone contact, rising to 38.1 per cent for those seeking advice or information.

The Marlow Half Marathon took place on Sunday, November 1, with thousands of runners, spectators and volunteers gathering in the Buckinghamshire town. Edward Denham won the men's race in 1:12:16, while India Lee claimed victory in the women's race in 1:23:36. Hosted by Marlow Striders, the event also featured the Marlow 7 and The Frankenstein races, with supporters lining the route throughout the day.

Buckinghamshire's local plan for 91,000 new homes by 2045 is to be considered by the council's cabinet on Tuesday, 10 November, with a view to sending it for independent planning examination. The plan will guide development across the county, including where housing and employment sites should be located. A formal public consultation attracted around 12,600 representations, with concerns raised about whether the housing target can be delivered, whether the proposed focus on the north of the county is appropriate, and whether infrastructure including roads, schools, healthcare and water services can cope.

Richie Junior Anderson, 23, died on September 21 after suffering injuries in a crash at Moto Park motocross track in Flackwell Heath on September 19. His inquest opening hearing, originally scheduled for November 2 at Beaconsfield Coroner's Court, has been rescheduled for November 9, with senior coroner Crispin Butler presiding. Inspectors rated it as good for food hygiene and safety, structural compliance and confidence in management. The restaurant already has a 4.5-star rating from 544 Google reviews, with customers praising its homemade bakes and welcoming atmosphere.

Beverley and Paul Pidgeon have opened HP29 Fitness, a strength and performance-focused gym in High Wycombe. The couple invested around £45,000 and took four years to find a suitable premises, transforming it in under a month. Beverley, an independent personal trainer for 17 years, and Paul, involved in fitness for over 20 years, wanted to create a facility focused on coaching and community rather than a conventional commercial gym, aiming to address intimidation some people experience in traditional gym environments.

Buckinghamshire Council has issued an enforcement notice requiring a homeowner in High Wycombe to remove a wall and pillars erected without planning permission or reduce them to one metre high. The council says the structures harm the area's open character and do not fit with nearby simple boundary treatments. The notice, issued on 22 October for a property in Coates Lane, takes effect on 1 December unless an appeal is made.

Six people have been convicted of motoring offences at High Wycombe Magistrates Court, the Bucks Free Press reports. The cases included driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving whilst disqualified, and driving without insurance. Penalties ranged from fines of £48 to £325, with some offenders receiving driving bans of up to 12 months and additional community orders.
